💜 Join Us for Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day! 💜
On Friday, November 14, the Forbuss PTO will proudly host Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day, joining schools across the nation in honoring Ruby’s courage, kindness, and the power of inclusion.
In 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became the first Black child to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South. Her bravery and grace in the face of adversity continue to inspire generations to stand up for what’s right and treat one another with compassion.
At Forbuss, we believe that celebrating Ruby’s story helps strengthen our school’s culture and climate, reminding us that kindness, empathy, and respect are at the heart of everything we do.

📍 Meet-Up: Southwest Ridge Park
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM
📸 Group Photo: 8:30 AM — then we’ll walk together to school as the gates open at 8:40.
☕ Enjoy complimentary Deja Brew Coffee Cart drinks and light refreshments, sponsored by the Forbuss PTO.
💜 Wear purple — Ruby’s favorite color — to show your Falcon pride and commitment to courage and inclusion!
Families who typically walk to school are encouraged to have their children walk with them that morning and meet us at the park ahead of time to join the celebration. Parking is available at Southwest Ridge Park, Forbuss visitor parking, and along Grand Canyon Drive. Please be safe as you park and walk with us — we’ll head to the school together following our group photo.
