Youth Program Philosophy

The Johnstown Field Hockey Youth Program provides both technical and tactical training for youth players in a fun, game-orientated atmosphere. Our commitment is to provide a venue for field hockey players in the Johnstown area to be part of an environment that fosters both the passion for and the fun of the game. We provide players with top quality training where they can advance both their individual and team skills. Our coaching staff is committed to the advancement of the sport of field hockey while making you (and us) laugh.

Round Robin Play Days:

@ Saratoga High School - September 11th

@ Burnt Hills High School - September 18th

@ Shenendehowa High School - September 25th

@ Knox Field - October 2rd

We will also offer 1 outdoor clinic/tournament at Skidmore College during the spring of 2023. The cost of that clinic/tournament is included in your registration fee.

Youth Practice Schedule

All practices are held during the evening on the turf at Knox Field. Tentative dates are as follows: Aug 24 , 25 & 31 and Sept 7, 14, 21, & 28. A detailed practice schedule with more information will be emailed to you approximately one week before practices begin.

Youth Program Cost:

$75 - includes a practice/game pinnie & all play day/tournament fees

Equipment Needed:

Stick, shin guards, mouth guard, and water. (Sticks are available to borrow if needed).

Refund Policy:

A full refund minus a $5 processing fee is given if notice of cancellation is given by August 17th. Refunds (minus the $5 processing fee) based on medical conditions will be made only when accompanied by a letter from a physician.

PROGRAM WAIVER

When registering the undersigned minor, individually as parents(s) or guardians(s) of a minor, you request that the child be allowed to participate in the youth program sponsored by Johnstown Field Hockey Youth Program. You do hereby agree to waive and release, and hold harmless Johnstown Field Hockey Youth Program, its officers, and staff from and against all claims or causes of action or demands, liabilities, damages on account of any injury or accident involving the child’s participation in the field hockey youth program or in the course of completion and/or activities held in connection with the field hockey youth program. You understand that the child participates in this activity at her/her own risk and that any medical expenses associated with this program are your responsibility.

Authorization for Medical Treatment of Minors

You (we), being the parent(s) of custody or legal guardian(s) of the registered minor do hereby appoint the supervising representatives of the field hockey youth program to act on your behalf in authorizing unexpected medical, dental or surgical care, or hospitalization for said minor, in your absence and you authorize the supervising representatives of the field hockey youth program to grant consent to medical doctors and emergency staff at a hospital/emergency faculty to conduct the required tests and provide the necessary medical treatment/care to the above child IF YOUR OR YOUR SPOUSE CANNOT BE REACHED. You understand that every responsible effort will be made to contact you. You understand that the consent and authorization herein granted are valid only during the length of the field hockey youth program.
