The Johnson County Suicide Prevention Coalition is excited to host Stacey Lamb and Katherine Melton, the creative team behind the new postvention resource, "Hope and the Winds of Grief," released in June and July 2024. Discover the inspiration behind this impactful book and workbook designed to provide comfort and healing to survivors of suicide loss. Stacey and Katherine will share their journey of bringing Hope to the community and explore the hidden messages and meanings embedded throughout the book.About the Speakers:
Stacey Lamb is a talented illustrator with a rich history of creating art since she was 10 years old. With over 30 years of experience at Hallmark Cards, Stacey now runs her own company, HAPPYtown, where she creates games and activities for children in hospitals and professionals like play therapists and grief counselors. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas, with her family and continues to use her artistic talents to support healing and joy.
Katherine Melton, MPH, MCHES, is a dedicated public and mental health professional with extensive experience as a consultant, trainer, and mental health advocate. Her work focuses on promoting comprehensive wellbeing and mental health, enhancing access to care, and supporting grief and recovery. Katherine also serves as a Staff Development Specialist at the Johnson County Mental Health Center, where she continues to impact the community positively.
