Come to our food service worker study group where we'll read and discuss workplace union literature (shop-papers), its lessons for unorganized workers, and the ways we can use these lessons to organize around demands like greater wages, benefits, and greater workers' control over production/management. All those organized under the food service industry, any wage-laborer employed in a food-service workplace regardless of the character of their labor(dishwashers, wait-staff, cooks, baristas, cashiers) are invited to attend! Although any worker is free to join, please allow space for those actively employed in food service who could potentially use these shop-papers to organize themselves. The Johnson City New Labor Committee ultimately seeks to bring workers together, mostly unorganized, for collective guidance in trade-union activities and working class politics in general. Feel free to RSVP for this event or to register yourself as a contact or prospective member using the links in our Instagram bio!

Location: Classroom/meditation space, 2nd floor
