On February 9, 1964, many of us, over 73 million viewers, watched the Ed Sullivan show that evening and got our first look at a cultural phenomenon called The Beatles and the world changed. So, of course, they made a movie starring the Fab Four that Time magazine rated as one of the 100 all-time great films and has also been credited with being one of the most influential of all musical films foreshadowing pop music videos, a tv show called The Monkees and other low-budget musicals starring British pop groups. Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, A Hard Day's Night is still delighting audiences in this mockumentary of "a day in the life" of the charismatic Liverpool lads and is a snapshot of another time.
