Join us for a family friendly native tree planting and community barbecue. A couple of hard working volunteers alongside funding from Auckland Council has enabled this reserve to begin changing from a weedy mess, to something that will one day feed the birds and other wildlife we love. We have over 400 natives to plant!
Take part and have the opportunity to:
- Learn about native plants
- Learn about pest plants
- Join a discussion about whether you would like to see a community garden established here one day
- Make a difference in your community - the local Halo of Verrans Gully
Meet at 10am at 1 Verran Road, Birkenhead. The site is behind the watercare and tennis buildings.
Please bring covered shoes or gumboots, gloves and a spade if you have them.
