A couple of hard working volunteers alongside funding from Auckland Council has enabled this reserve to begin changing from a weedy mess, to something that will one day feed the birds and other wildlife we love. We have over 400 natives to plant!
Take part and have the opportunity to:
- Learn about native plants
- Learn about pest plants
- Join a discussion about whether you would like to see a community garden established here one day
- Make a difference in your community - the local Halo of Verrans Gully
Meet at 10am at 1 Verran Road, Birkenhead. The site is behind the watercare and tennis buildings.
Please bring covered shoes or gumboots, gloves and a spade if you have them.
An RSVP (click GOING on this facebook event) is appreciated so we can cater appropriately for the BBQ.
You can also RSVP by emailing us on [email protected] or call Dennis on 027 250 8613
As always thanks to our volunteers, Kaipatiki Local Board, Auckland Council Community Facilities team and Birkenhead Licensing Trust for their support in making this kind of event possible
