About this Event
Tom Lamb will give a brief overview of the extraordinary life and achievements of John James Audubon, along with what makes him the greatest bird artist, and some of the controversies that surround him. Tom will also discuss why Audubon prints are so valued and why some publishers of the prints might be more desirable than others.
Tom Lamb is a retired auction specialist who started at Christie’s in 1980 in London and moved to Bloomsbury Book auctions in 2007, and to Bonhams Book department in 2011 before retiring in 2021. He was always involved in book and map auction records. In his retirement he has set up a consultancy firm providing advice on Appraisals and Estate management.
