John was born in High Prairie AB., and grew up in Smithers B.C. He started playing music at the age of 14. In 1981 to 1985, John was a road musician touring around the Yukon, North West Territory, Alberta, and B.C. John recorded a CD in 2003. Eight songs that he wrote the music and lyrics for. He now is a local musician and plays both old and new country. He also is with the local group, Whiskey Moon.
