The 18th meeting of Guitar League Saint Petersburg will be on 05-08-2024 in the band room at Gibbs High School – sign in at 6:30pm. We are excited to have John Frinzi as the Main Presenters for the May 8th meeting!
How to get there:
Because of school security, the only entrance to the Gibbs High School campus will be the 31st Street entrance on the back side of the school by the basketball and tennis courts. There is plenty of parking. Click on this link and it will open in Google maps and this dropped pin should take you to that back gate in the parking lot off 31st Street South.

About our presenter:
A gifted singer and songwriter, skillful on both guitar and piano, John Frinzi has built an audience through craft and originality. An early demo caught the ear of legendary steel guitarist and long time Coral Reefer Band member Doyle Grisham, and their working relationship led to John's first CD, “Into The Dawn.” His second album, “Shoreline,” showcases Frinzi's versatility as a songwriter and vocalist with many of the songs co-written by Tom Corcoran, co-writer of the Jimmy Buffett classics, “Fins,” and “Cuban Crime of Passion.” Both CDs remain in regular rotation on Sirius/XM’s Radio Margaritaville.
Most recently, John teamed up with multi-platinum Songwriter and Producer Aaron Scherz on their song "Summer Sun" which, in addition to being a fan favorite on XM, will be included on his forthcoming album to be released this year.
A seasoned live performer, Frinzi has toured nationally playing over 250 dates a year and has been featured at major festivals including The Keith Sykes Songwriter’s Celebration, BMI's Key West Songwriter’s Festival, Pensacola Beach Songwriter’s Fest and has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Jesse Winchester, Mac McAnally, Todd Snider and Will Kimbrough. wwwJohnFrinzi.com

The Guitar League generally meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month (February and March exceptions) from 6:30 PM to 9 PM (sign in & registration at 6:30) at Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School. The School Board of Pinellas County, FL is neither sponsoring, nor affiliated with this event.
At each meeting, the main presenter spends the first 50 minutes sharing a mixture of performing and discussing their craft, something truly unique in the entertainment industry. Next, we take a 20-minute break and then begin the educational portion of our program. After the main presenter we do breakout sessions that are designed to fit the varying skill levels (Rookies, Minors and Majors). Attendees are encouraged to bring their acoustic guitar, capo and tuner if they have one.
A prospective member’s first meeting is always free to test-drive the organization. Membership is $120/year for 12 monthly meetings ($10/meeting) or $15 per month. Membership includes access to a huge curated library of free online lessons from guitar instruction industry leader Truefire and deep discounts on their All-Access plan. The Saint Petersburg chapter of Guitar League is the tenth chapter of the Syracuse, NY based organization. Chapters are located in Syracuse N.Y., Asheville, NC, Boston North, MA, Central Massachusetts, MA, Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, Knoxville, TN, Phoenix, AZ, Poconos, PA and Southern Wisconsin, WIS.
