About this Event
John Fowler and Nancy Lancaster were instrumental in shaping the English Country House Style of interior decoration, blending refinement with an inviting, lived-in charm. Their approach preserved the heritage of many of Britain’s great houses – including Ramsbury Manor - while making them feel natural and welcoming.
This talk explores Fowler and Lancaster’s hugely influential style which defined a standard for interiors that balances sophistication with an unpretentious, quintessentially English, sensibility.
John Benson first visited Ramsbury Manor in the 1980s and has been captivated by it ever since. He’s a consultant to The Ramsbury Manor Foundation and a member of The Worshipful Company of Art Scholars.
