John Forrest National Park is located approximately 28 km east of Perth along the Great Eastern Highway. Turn off the highway into Park Road at the number 2 entrance and follow it to the facilities area. If you have a National Parks pass, bring it with you. Otherwise, entry is $17 per vehicle or $10 per vehicle concession but may be subject to change.
Meet near the information board in the facilities area. Please use the carparks to the east of the information board as the ones to the west are being used for the construction of a new bridge. We will follow walk and fire trails over undulating terrain and can expect to see a mix of the birds of the Jarrah forest and the drier Wandoo woodland areas, as both vegetation communities are represented in the park. On previous visits, between 40 and 50 species have been recorded. As this is a long, circular walk you may wish to carry something to drink with you.
Bring morning tea to have while the bird list is compiled.
