Joe Wray is a Milwaukee-based guitarist and one-man-band performer whose unexpected path to music began after a car accident following his service in the U.S. Marine Corps. Originally shy about performing, he transformed into a staple of Milwaukee’s Downtown and East Side nightlife, known for blending hip-hop, folk, and rock with acoustic guitar and looping technology. Since returning to Milwaukee in 2009, he has built a steady career playing multiple weekly gigs and has grown to appreciate the city’s unpretentious, fun-loving character.
