About this Event

Based out of Charlotte, NC - songwriter/keyboardist/producer Joe May, known for his work with Pluto Gang, has released his debut solo album and has built a high-energy live show featuring established local musicians. May has launched headfirst into this new act, with tens of thousands of streams and packed rooms arriving just as quickly as the project was announced.

Fronted by May playing a 50 year old Clavinet, loaded with distortion like a lead guitar, May's live act brings the jamming, improvisational spirit of Pluto Gang, in a polished, classic, adult contemporary context.

Fo Daniels combines the raw intensity of a rock and roll band with a singer-songwriter's painstaking attention to lyrical and emotional detail. The debut LP, "Imitation Roses" was cut completely live, all in one day. Produced crisply but without the use of any pitch/tempo correction, it allows for a sense of unapologetic authenticity and rugged energy to permeate through the whole record. It was recently awarded "Album of the Year" in his home base of Charleston, SC. His most recent release "One More Night" is the third of a series of singles recorded at the Grammy-nominated Big Bad Sound Studios in Los Angeles, California. Praise for "Imitation Roses": "The song [Summers Past] delves into the wistful nostalgia of remembering the good times and trying to hold onto the feelings they created, with crunchy and memorable guitar riffs proving Daniels’ scholarly fascination with rock music has been put to good use."- NOTION "There’s a rawness to Imitation Roses balanced by lyrics permeated with sun-baked nostalgia and catharsis that leads listeners to their own release" - Charleston City Paper "A fragile yet quietly assured sense of control, deft but yet also dynamic in a very subtle way. A softly alluring work, ‘Promises’ seems to purr with restraint, pointing to another side of Fo Daniels’ artistry."- CLASH Magazine Fo is a childhood nickname for Forrest.
