Since 2015, Joe Cirotti Trio has been running as a well-oiled string band from the shadows of Northwest Jersey’s Appalachian ridge. The band fuses their multi-instrumentalist upbringings with a passion for the roots of American folk, jazz, country, and bluegrass. Their bond is rooted in proximity, strengthened by a blue-collar passion for picking, and buoyed by their shared propensity for roots music and whiskey. Influenced by Doc Watson, Tony Rice, and Garcia/Grisman, as well as Django Reinhardt, Pink Floyd, and Van Halen, the band stirs up a one-of-a-kind blend of Americana, bluegrass, alt-country, and gypsy jazz, and acoustic pop.
No Wood Flower show is complete without captivating vocals, tight harmonies, blazing dual Tony Rice-inspired guitar leads, driving Scruggs-style banjo, rousing bass solos and soulful mandolin lines, all topped off by fun and spontaneous banter! Formed in the summer of 2022 in Southeast PA by a guitar teacher and his former student from a decade earlier, Wood Flower set out to strongly honor traditional bluegrass music while incorporating both original compositions and modern elements into their own unique sound.
Tim Leslie is a member of Sociograss, a rough and rowdy Americana collective based in Edinburgh consisting of members from bands such as Wire and Wool, Cucks Bounty, and the Auld Reekie String Band. Sociograss came together over approximately five years of filling pubs, living rooms, stages, and streets with their music, ultimately bonding over a love of bluegrass, free beer, and hell of a good time.
