Joe Barbieri is one of the most prolific Italian artists and he has just released his new album "Big Bang". He was visiting PJC in October '24, delivering one of the most fantastic performances here at our club, in front of a completely packed room. After a glorious, intimate and profound first set, he was joined by Paolo and his bandoneon in the second and the audience was completely mesmerised by their natural charme, communication and charisma, that saluted the musicians with a genuine standing ovation.
During this summer program occasion, he will be presenting "Vulío" in trio with Jesper Bodilsen on contrabass and Paolo Russo on bandoneon in a passionate and personal journey through the timeless pearls of Neapolitan music, to which, as a native Neapolitan, he obviously feels particularly attached, plus a few songs from his brand new album.

Joe Barbieri is a fascinating anomaly, an outsider who has been able to build a personal path outside the industry track and who has succeeded in the rare goal of channelling the genuine appreciation of colleagues, critics and the public.
Barbieri has released 6 albums of original songs, two tribute albums dedicated to his tutelary deities in jazz - namely Chet Baker and Billie Holiday - and a monograph chiselled around the Neapolitan Music titled "Vulío" (2024).
Joe's music is released in many countries around the world, and his personal stylistic code - which links the song-writing to jazz and world music - has led him over the years to cross paths with colleagues in each of these fields (from Pino Daniele to Omara Portuondo, from Stacey Kent to Luz Casal, from Jorge Drexler to Jaques Morelenbaum) and to tread some of the most prestigious stages on the planet.

ABOUT Paolo's Jazz Club
Created in June 2022, Paolo's Jazz Club is an intimate concert venue created around and by the pianist, bandoneonist and composer, Paolo Russo together with his wife, the singer, artist and voice awareness teacher, Katrine Krog Russo on the West part of island Møn in the Southern part of Denmark.
Situated on the West part of the island of Møn just South of Sjælland. Arriving from Copenhagen by car the trip takes approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes and free parking is available.
