Artist Joanne McFadyen will teach ingenious methods for using shellac and the old techique of French polishing to upcycle cardboard packaging made from woodpulp.
Joanne McFadyen's exhibition Cardboard Drought is on show at Eltham Library Community Gallery. McFadyen transfers the old technique of French polishing onto cardboard packaging in her artworks. In cardboard she offers a glimpse of both landscape and El Nino weather patterns, with inspired imagery from Strathewen, Nillumbik Shire. McFayden tells a narrative of climate change by using upcycled materials to highlight the local and regional impacts of drought.
