Now here is a message from the one, the only, JOANNE!!!
Hihi!! My name is Joanne Peng (she/her), and I am so excited to be part of this year’s UCI Homecoming Court ♥️ I’m a fourth-year Education Sciences major, and a huge dream of mine is to guide and support the next generation as they find their own voices and evolve into the people they are meant to be!
Currently, I am involved at a Montessori preschool where I get to cheer on little learners as they discover the world around them! On campus, I serve as president of the Vermillion Vocalists, an all-inclusive, co-ed a cappella group. A cappella has been my creative outlet for the past four years and one of the spaces I’m most proud of (there is something so absolutely special about making music with the people I love so dearly 🫂). Within my time at UCI, I’ve also been part of the SPOP community as a Staffer and a Coordinator (#gosoulyear), UCI’s Chamber Singers, CAUCI’s Intermural Volleyball team, and a THRIVE Mentor.
Outside of school life, I enjoy playing games, performing, going on hikes, grabbing yummy sweet treats, or dilly dallying in new places, and honestly, all of it is so much better when I get to do it alongside my friends! Whether I met you in the long halls of Caballo 6, through silly little video games, or even taught you how to ZOT this past summer, the memories we’ve made along the way mean everything to me. UCI has given me space to grow not just as a leader and educator, but moreso as a person, and the communities I’ve found here have truly supported and shaped my entire college experience! Being on this court feels like a love letter to those I've met through my journey at UCI, so thank you for taking the time to read through this. I am so beyond grateful to represent the people and spaces that made this campus feel like home. 💌
