About the Author:

Joan Nathan is the award winning and bestselling author of multiple cookbooks featuring Jewish food and traditions. She is also a frequent contributor to The New York Times and other publications. She shares her time between Washington, DC, and Martha's Vineyard and with her grandchildren.

Rabbi Lauren Holtzblatt, recognized by the Forward as one of the “32 most inspiring rabbis,” is currently at Adas Israel, where she has welcomed two sitting U.S. presidents and numerous world leaders. She has officiated at significant national events, including the funeral of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She is active in many Jewish organizations, such as the Schusterman Fellowship, Avodah and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, in addition to directing the Jewish Mindfulness Center of Washington. Previously involved with different university Hillels. She is married to Ari Holtzblatt, and they have two children, Blumah and Elijah.
