Gday all! This is a save the date for what will be an incredible day for our club.
In 1999 a small group of passionate women, all students at Deakin University Burwood, started a women’s football club through the university’s student association.
Well before the AFL had considered a national competition, the Victorian Women’s Football League was the sole football league operating in the state.
Having called four eastern suburbs grounds home throughout the past 25 years, the Devils have maintained their culture established back in the halls of Deakin University.
A proud stand alone women’s football club, we have produced many AFLW players, won 6 premierships but more importantly we have provided women with an opportunity to play the great game of Aussie Rules.
Our history has seen many people come through the club, people who have paved the way and contributed to the amazing club we have today.
Strong and determined women such as Jo ‘Coxy’ Cox, who never took no for an answer. The Devils were privileged to have Coxy as a player and committee member, before her life was tragically cut short by cancer. Coxy epitomised the spirit of the Devils, by always putting the club first and supporting her team mates on and off the field.
We are extremely proud to relaunch the Jo Cox Cup Day in 2024, where we honour our late friend whilst raising money for charity.
A massive game day is being planned to celebrate the Devils Silver Jubilee and Jo Cox Cup Day. We invite all past and present players, coaches, supporters and members to join us at Mulgrave Reserve to celebrate this incredible milestone.

Please spread the word, we would like to reach as many people who have been involved in the club throughout the past 25 years.
The Premier League game will commence at 10:40AM and the main event of the Reserves Jo Cox Cup will commence at 12:30PM.
Bake sale will be going all day long, canteen and the BBQ running hot.
Celebrations in the social rooms afterwards with plenty to eat and the bar open to cheers to the announcement of the 25 year team.
