Jo Carley e The Old Dry Skulls sono un trio proveniente dall' Inghilterra che combinano i ritmi voodoo ska del 1930 e il blues con la vecchia scena "Vaudeville"cabaret, avanspettacolo,una musica che spinge le persone a muoversi e ballare .
Il loro spettacolo è animato e insolito , la band cerca di divertire e attirare il pubblico portandolo con sé in un mondo underground" pieno di meraviglia, dove il macabro e l'immaginazione si fondono con gli elementi del Vaudeville, Skiffle, film horror immaginario, Early ska, Calypso, vecchio- Old timey Country, Rock n Roll e il blues.
La forza motrice è il set-up one-man-band di Tim con il Kick-tamburo, hi-hat e la chitarra mentre dolci melodie di Jo "la regina voodoo" incantano il pubblico, ciò che rende ancora più seducente il ritmo sono i passaggi di Jo da violino al mandolino al washboard, a chiudere il line up della band vi è James Le Huray al contrabbasso e banjo.
Una band che dal meglio della loro musica live , Jo Carley & The Old Dry Skulls sono stati in tour ampiamente su e giù per il Regno Unito e in tutta Europa presso alcuni dei migliori festival e club del circuito.

Be transported to a bygone era when witches and black magic were rife. Using old instruments with modern elements, Jo Carley And The Old Dry Skulls weave a strange magic into their music that is completely unique. Between the three of these multi-instrumentalists, they are able blend early styles of Blues, Vaudeville, Calypso and Rockabilly in a way that seamlessly transcends all barriers of time. Their songs tell stories of deals with the devil, demons in love, witchdoctors, zombies, ghosts, ghouls, journeys to the deepest jungles and other exotic adventures which are told using sweet melodies and syncopated sounds.

The music takes influence from early Vaudeville, Blues, Calypso acts such as Victoria Spivey, Cab Calloway and Wilmoth Houdini and adds inspiration from Old Time Country, Bluegrass and Rockabilly from the likes of Bill Monroe all the way to Wanda Jackson, but adding a creepy and theatrical twist that echoes Dr John and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
