On September 17th Scarborough Jazz Club welcomes back Jim Corry after an absence of two years. Jim is an alto sax player who successfully straddles the worlds of jazz, soul and pop and who also teaches jazz at Leeds Conservatoire. Jim is a recognised performer, having toured the world with a veritable who’s who of bands and singers and performed at international Jazz Festivals including Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Jazz Stage, Blue Note Milan and Cork International Jazz Festival.
His playing has been described as ‘soulful saxophone, hot stuff’ (The Guardian). Tonight he’ll be backed by the 4 piece edition of our house band.
In the support slot at 8pm are Just Two: father and son duo of Brian (harmonica) and Billy (guitar).
Doors 7.45. Music 8.00. Minimum donation £5. Students and under 18s half-price.
