Sundays at Four 2024Celebrate the joy of live music in a one hour recital series on Sundays at 4pm at The Piano.
"In crafting this programme, I have woven together five pairs of Chinese and New Zealand piano works, each linked by shared themes. From the innocence of children to the majesty of nature, from songs that sing of the heart to the energetic dance of sonatinas, I journey through the ways in which composers from these two lands paint their worlds in sound. It is a joy to witness how music, unbound by time or culture, transcends borders, creating a universal language. Through this sonic voyage, we traverse the landscapes of China and New Zealand, finding common ground in the melodies that unite us." - Jian Liu
