In November the JHS Drama Club will present our Fall Play production, the classic dark comedy "Arsenic and Old Lace."The well known play was the basis for the 1940"s movie which starred Cary Grant as Mortimer Brewster.
Mortimer is living a happy life. He has a good job and has just gotten engaged to the "girl next door." He has always known that his family had a bit of a crazy streak (after all his brother believes he is Teddy Roosevelt) but his world is turned upside down when he finds an un-alive body in the living room and realizes that his dear sweet elderly aunts have been poisoning lonely old widowers for years!
To complicate matters further, Mortimer’s maniacal brother, Jonathan, shows up at the family home, on the night that the aunts are planning to bury their newest victim. Johnathon has just escaped from prison and brings with him his own private plastic surgeon and another un-alive body.
Mortimer must rally to protect his aunts from prison, protect his fiancé from his family and protect his own sanity from deteriorating.
