Weymouth is a stunning holiday resort and is ideally situated on the picturesque south coast of Dorset. Often described as England’s Bay of Naples, Weymouth has something to offer everyone with golden sands, safe bathing and beautiful coastline scenery.The 3-star Hotel Rex is situated on the Esplanade overlooking the stunning golden sands of Weymouth Beach and the Jurassic Coastline beyond. Hotel facilities include a residents’ lounge, fully licensed bar, à la carte restaurant, wireless internet access and a passenger lift that serves all floors. A short walk from the hotel leads you into the town centre with its variety of shops, cafes and amenities. The 17th Century Harbour, with its busy fishing fleet is always a hive of activity & just a few yards away.
Day 1 - Departing from our local area, we journey south with a suitable comfort break en-route before arriving at the Hotel Rex in Weymouth.
Day 2 - After breakfast we have a morning free to do as you please. In the afternoon, we have a full tour to the Isle of Portland and its harbour. This unique tide island marks the southernmost point on the Jurassic Coast and is joined to the mainland by Chesil Beach, an 18 mile long shingle barrier beach stretching from West Bay to Portland and is one of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks.
Day 3 - Departing the hotel after breakfast, we enjoy a Dorset Village tour to Bridport and West Bay, a charming fishing village located on one of the most dramatic stretches of the Jurassic Coast, offering some stunning landscapes to explore with breath-taking views from the cliff tops surrounding the village. It has enjoyed a surge in popularity in recent years thanks to ITV’s smash hit Drama, Broadchurch, starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman being filmed here. Returning to the hotel via a scenic coastal drive and Abbotsbury Swannery, the only managed colony of free-flying mute swans in the world.
Day 4 - Departing the hotel we journey towards Purbeck Hills, offering views of the Famous White Horse, before heading to Dorchester, a charming county town where we make a break. Leaving Dorchester we continue our journey via Poundbury, an urban extension to the town of Dorchester, now owned by the Duke of Cornwall, Prince William.
Day 5 - Departing the hotel after breakfast we make our return journey, with suitable comfort breaks en route, to arrive home approximately late afternoon.
