What do you get when you mix a bagpiper who is an ex member of the 16 time world champion Shotts & Dykehead pipe band, a jazz fusion drummer who has toured with the likes of Jean-Luc Ponty, Joe Beck and Liza Fisher, a classically trained pianist/organist/choral director turned rock star who tours with Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple and two graduates from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland? Jesse Ofgang and the Diaspora Combining Scottish & Irish music with rock, jazz, funk and fusion to create a sound unlike anything you've ever heard.
The Diaspora consists of

Jesse Ofgang - bagpipes, whistles, uilleann pipes, whimsical sounds
Levon Ofgang brings his virtuosic finger style guitar playing to the Irish Cultural Center for the first time. Think Tommy Emmanuel meets Andy McKee with some bagpipes thrown in.
Celtic Cross pipe band boasts a roster of two dozen pipers and drummers from the greater Danbury and New York state areas. Our membership is made up of men and woman from a broad range of backgrounds, jobs, and pipe band experiences. Each musician demonstrates a commitment to the art of piping and drumming by dedicating considerable time, travel and expense to pursue his or her love of Celtic music and culture. The band uniform consists of summer and winter military outfits for parades and Argyle jackets and ties for concert engagements.
