Join me for a magical evening of night photography and stargazing at the iconic Corbière Lighthouse in Jersey. We’ll explore the beauty of the night sky, learn how to photograph it, and even use UV torches to uncover glowing bioluminescent seaweeds in the rock pools. Whether you’re new to photography or looking to sharpen your skills, this will be a fun and relaxed evening to connect with nature and creativity.
Workshop Details
Date & Time: Tuesday, 4th February 2025, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (weather-dependent).
Meeting Point: Corbière Lighthouse car park.
Price: £30 per person
What’s Included:
Friendly and practical guidance on night photography.
A hands-on UV torch exploration of bioluminescent seaweeds.
Stargazing tips and local folklore stories.
What to Bring:
DSLR or mirrorless camera (a tripod will really help!).
Warm clothing and sturdy footwear for exploring the rocks.
Optional: A headlamp with red light and a thermos with your favorite hot drink.
What We’ll Do
Welcome & Orientation (10 mins)
I’ll introduce myself and give a quick safety briefing.
We’ll go over the plan for the evening so you know what to expect.
Photography Basics (20 mins)
I’ll walk you through setting up your camera for low-light photography.
Learn how to focus in the dark and get the best shots of the lighthouse and night sky.
Explore & Create (90 mins)
Together, we’ll head to the rocky shoreline to see the glowing magic of bioluminescent seaweeds with UV torches.
You’ll have plenty of time to capture the lighthouse, the sea, and the stars.
Wrap-Up (10 mins)
We’ll look at our favorite photos and I’ll share tips for editing them later.
