Jenny Sturgeon from Shetland and Steve Crawford from Aberdeenshire will perform their emotional folk music on the QKaff stage right on campus and bring a piece of Scotland with them.
JENNY STURGEON is a Scottish singer-songwriter, multi-instramentalist and sound artist. As a solo artist, she has released two acclaimed albums and EPs. Her music combines field recordings with sonic and lyrical imagery which is bound together by common threads of nature, folklore and the connection people have with the landscape. Jenny's album "The Living Mountain" was nominated for the 2021 Scottish Album of the Year awards and won Best Acoustic at the 2020 Scottish Alternative Music Awards.
STEVE CRAWFORD is known both in his native Scotland and in Germany, where he currently resides, for his powerful, honey-soaked voice and dynamic guitar playing. As a songwriter, he is characterized by songs of wonderful clarity and poetic density, covering a wide range of topics including politics, love, life and death. His compositions seamlessly blend the influences of Scottish folk and Americana, mixed with a pinch of soul.
