Join us in celebrating the release of How To Get A Life In 10 Dates, the charming new rom-com by Jenny Howe on Friday, January 24th at 7 PM. Jenny Howe will be in conversation with Lovestruck Book's founder, Rachel Kanter, as she discusses the inspiration behind the book, the hilarious and heartwarming moments in Haleigh’s dating journey, the complexities of falling for someone you’ve known your whole life and the experience of dating as a plus-size woman.

ABOUT JENNY HOWE
Jenny L. Howe first started scribbling stories into black-and-white composition notebooks with neon pink pens when she was in junior high and never really stopped. In college, she decided to turn her love of books into a career by pursuing a Ph.D. in literature, where she spent the next few years studying bizarre and entertaining medieval romances. Now, as a professor, she teaches courses in college writing, literature, and children’s media. When she’s not writing and teaching, Jenny spends her time buried under puzzle pieces, cross-stitching her favorite characters, and taking too many pictures of her rescue dogs, Tucker, Dale, and Toast. She is the author of The Make-Up Test and On the Plus Side.

ABOUT HOW TO GET A LIFE IN 10 DATES
Dating as a plus-size woman has been exhausting for Haleigh Berkshire. Sure, she's only twenty-five, but she's been doing it for a decade, and she's beginning to think it's time for a sabbatical. It doesn't help that she's been madly in love with her best friend, Jack, for years.

Haleigh agrees to let her friends and family set her up with ten men or women--and to her surprise, some of her dates go better than expected. Until Jack starts breaking all the rules they’d made to mend their friendship in college. He produces a laundry list of flaws for everyone she likes, crashes some of her nights out, and finally shocks her by throwing himself into the mix. Dating Jack has always been the dream, but Haleigh is afraid of the reality. Is it worth risking her best friend for something that may have never been meant to be?

ABOUT RACHEL KANTER
Rachel Kanter is the owner and founder of Lovestruck Books, a romance bookstore in Cambridge, MA, born from her lifelong passion for romance novels and her desire to create a space that celebrates love and literature. A graduate of Yale University and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Rachel has a background in teaching and nonprofit work, specializing in development and community outreach. After embracing motherhood with three children in five years, she returned to her professional ambitions and opened her dream bookstore. Rachel lives in Cambridge with her husband and children, and in her free time, she enjoys reading romance novels, baking, singing showtunes, and sneaking naps. Her favorite romance trope is Enemies to Lovers.
