About this Event
Jennifer Mills is a Melbourne based artist renowned for her technical mastery of watercolour and her ability to render subjects with intricate detail. Often inspired by found photographic images, she employs oil pastel and scissors to obscure, cut out, or eliminate specific characters or elements in her work.
Join Jennifer in this immersive workshop which focuses on wet medias such as watercolour, ink, and gouache as well as combining collage techniques.
Participants will explore a range of drawing ‘with brushes’ to create dynamic, layered artworks. Jennifer will guide you through essential techniques such as using washes and transparency, wet-on-wet applications, dry brush effects, feathering and the use of tools to experiment with texture and application. Each technique offers unique ways to manipulate and enhance your work.
All materials are supplied and no prior painting experience is necessary. Please bring an art smock or wear clothes you don’t mind (potentially) getting paint on them!
