Looking for a full life story from coming of age to widowhood with care that only comes from a deep sense of pride in people and place? Join Midtown Reader for Jennifer Kanke as she reads and discusses her poetry from The Swellest Life Anyone Ever Had.About the Book:
She was born to blossoming asters and goldenrod. The war was over, the war was yet to come. When her children found her, she was nothing but an empty skin in the shape of a poem. What happened between is no tale of
high drama and intrigue, it’d never make the papers, but it’s as important as sandstone and shale, trillium and maypop, the smell of hot, hot biscuits in the morning. The Swellest Wife Anyone Ever Had is a collection of formal poetry that follows the life of a resistant and resilient Appalachian housewife in mid-century Ohio.
