Jachin Mee
Come and celebrate the dawning of a new quarter century at the beloved Wheatsheaf Hotel with a dreamy arvo in the front bar listening to Songs For A New World. Jen Lush, James Brown and Sam Cagney showcase new songs and a few older favourites alongside Jachin See (Wake In Fright) who’ll be sharing his brand new solo album.
Jen Lush (trio)
Jen Lush and her band are known for their dynamic and passionate performances, tender folk songs flung into evocative folk-rock soundscapes with storytelling always at the centre. Performing as a trio, they’ll be sharing the fledgling songs for their coming album alongside older favourites from ‘Hum of the Mettle’ and 'Let Loose The Beating Birds,’ (ARBA Roots Albums of the Year 2021 and 2023.) "Art rock, dark pop, folk noir and beautifully fragile acoustic indie tones benchmark 'Hum of the mettle', a nine-track album that weaves hauntingly potent poetry with emotive rhythms and richly-flavoured melodies." Jachin Mee
Jachin Mee is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist living and working on Kaurna land (Adelaide, Australia). He has been recording and performing since 2021 as a member of art-folk outfit Wake In Fright, exploring lateral, deconstructed approaches to the drumming and percussion, as well as furthering the band’s continuing sonic evolution as co-producer. In every aspect of his creative practice, he is fascinated by the architecture of the popular song while retaining a love for storytelling and sincerity. His debut solo album, Talking To Music About People, was released in November 2024.
