In this class, we will teach you how to set up your sewing machine for success in making a Jelly Roll Rug! You will learn how to make a beautiful home decor piece from start to finish. Grab your favorite Jelly Roll and get registered for this fun class!
You will need to bring:
* Sewing machine with its power cord, zig zag foot and 2-3 empty bobbins
* Jelly roll of your choice
* Thread (if you don't want to use the Glide thread we provide)
Recommended purchase:
* Fabric Tube Maker (This will be available for purchase on the date of class)
Class Policies
We ask that all attendees be respectful towards the instructor, staff, and fellow students. Sewing is fun, and we hope to create an environment where everyone can enjoy themselves and their craft!
Unless otherwise noted, classes are open to anyone age 14 and up. Ages 10 through 13 welcome as a student if a parent or guardian is also attending the class.
Regretfully, out of respect to our instructors and their schedules, class fees cannot be refunded or credited unless we are given greater than 48 hours notice. If you are unable to attend class, but there is an associated kit, please contact the store to arrange pickup.
Most classes require the use of your own machine, unless otherwise noted. Please refer to each individual class description for more information on class requirements.
If there is a technique or project you would like to learn, please let us know! We want to help you learn and grow, and always welcome new ideas and suggestions!
Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: You should be comfortable threading your machine and winding a bobbin.
Materials Included: We will provide the Batting Roll and Thread for this class.
Instructor: Shelbee Dunaway
Instructor Bio: Shelbee has been with Thomas Sewing Center for a few months learning all about our mission while working as support staff in our Greenup store. She is an avid sewist and is excited to step into the roll of educator! Shelbee is also the Owner of "Home Sewn" which is a local business specializing in clothing for all ages.
