Yes, you CAN make a really nice rug on your sewing machine! In class you will learn how to make a rug or placemat using Jelly Roll strips and batting. Using a unique technique of folding the strips and then attaching the strips together, you make a wonderful rug that is washable!
NO CUTTING INVOLVED!!! VERY basic sewing machine skills needed. If you can sew a straight (or semi-straight) line and your machine can do a zig-zag stitch, you can do this! This reminds me of a more contemporary take on the old braided rugs!
In the class, you will learn some tricks and helpful hints that you won't get in the pattern instructions alone, I will walk you through the technique and you will make a small mat / trivet using sample materials provided. You can start on your rug in class but will not get it finished in the 4 hours – but you will have all the skills needed to finish it at home.
