About this Event
Helen Aitchison is a local author and director of Write on the Tyne (CIC). Helen writes fictional books with Cahill Davis Publishing. She is author of The Dinner Club, The Life and Love (Attempts) of Kitty Cook, and has just released her third book, The 31 Days of May.
Inspired by life events and twenty years working locally in social care, Helen writes about social equity, overcoming adversity, hope, and friendship - always with a sprinkling of Geordie humour.
Alongside fictional writing, Write on the Tyne aims to make creative writing inclusive and accessible through teaching, mentoring, community projects, and working with charities and North East writers to get marginalised voices heard and local stories shared.
Jeff Stephenson is a local author who released his memoir, DUTY, through Write on the Tyne Publishing in 2023. Documenting his childhood in North Shields, his Royal Marines training and subsequent deployment to the Falklands and Northern Ireland, along with his lengthy career at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, and his duty to his community and family.
Jeff is now a personal trainer focusing on mindset and mental well-being.
