A long time ago in a galaxy far far away .. buckle your space suit and head to the spaceport for Trekkup to Tunisia and the Star Wars universe! Like dreamscapes from another planet with nights in subterranean dwellings and intergalactic outposts you’ll explore the barren landscapes and alien architecture of southern Tunisia. May the Force be with you!DAY 1 / OCT 08 ARRIVAL
Meeting at airport at 06.30 AM for a direct flight to Tunis on EMIRATES AIRLINES. Arrival, transfer to Sousse, dinner and overnight in 4* hotel.
DAY 2 / OCT 09
Early in the morning leave to El Djem, famous for its Amphitheater, with seating capacity of 35,000 spectators!! (only the Flavian Amphitheater in Rome and the ruined theatre of Capua are larger). Continue to small southern town where the ancient Berber language is still in use. We will visit the underground structures “the troglodyte house”, some of them are still occupied. After lunch, continue to Douz. Diner and overnight in 4* hotel.
DAY 3 / OCT 10
After breakfast, departure to Tozeur via Chott El Jerid salt lake, and further to Tozeur - a huge oasis in the desert, famous for thousand palms trees. Departure by 4x4 to Ong Jemel - Mos Espa from Star Wars, site beautifully located amongst the Sahara dunes. There are scenes from both Star Wars the Phantom Menace and Star Wars Attack of the Clones filmed in Ong Jemel. Here you will find the Pod-racing arena, the Mos Espa streets, Watto’s shop, market, and Sebulba’s Café. East of the set you will find the Yardangs, where the Jedi fight between Qui-Gonn and Darth Maul in Episode I was filmed. It was also the location of the Queen’s Royal Starship. Close by is Ong Jemel ‘the neck of the camel’ where Darth Maul arrives on Tatooine and releases the Sith Probes. After finding Anakin and Qui-Gon, Darth Maul is seen flying over the cliffs.
Visit of the oasis Chebika and Tamerza, known for the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight in Hotel 4*.
DAY 4 / OCT 11
After breakfast, departure to Kairouan Via Gafsa
Arrival to KAIROUAN the spiritual capital of Tunisia. Lunch and panoramic visit. Continuation to Tunis with several stops on the way. Diner and overnight in Tunis Hotel 3*.
DAY 5 / OCT 12
PCR test, half day sightseeing tour and free time at leisure in Tunis. Overnight in 3* hotel. Meals on this day are not included. Optional visit to Ras ben Sakka, the northernmost point of the African continent.
DAY 6 / OCT 13
Departure home.
Duration: 6 days
Activities: Desert trekking, sightseeing, lightsabre duelling.
Grade: Jedis only, available for cadets.
Accommodation & meals: Hotels double sharing - 3 and 4 stars. Meals included except meals in Tunis.
Requirement: Daypack, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, trekking shoes, light but conservative clothes, sports electrolytes, power bank, camera + batteries, travelers essentials.
Approx. cost: 4900 AED including flights until 7th September.
Specifically excluded: Any cost related to visas, extra meals, drinks and water.
Visas: Visa free for most countries. It is participant sole responsibility to secure admission to the country of destination.
PCR: 72 hrs PCR is required to enter Tunisia. Return test has been incorporated in trip program, costs are not included.
