P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Jeannie Vanasco to celebrate and discuss his new book, A Silent Treatment: a memoir exploring the loneliness and isolation of silence as punishment, both in her own life and beyond it, and confronting her greatest fear: that her mother will never speak to her again.

Jeannie will be joined in conversation by Hyeseung Song, bestselling author of . Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Jeannie will also sign copies ofA Silent Treatment.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jeannie Vanasco is the author of the memoirs Things We Didn’t Talk About When I Was a Girl (Tin House)—which was named a New York Times Editors' Choice and a best book of 2019 by TIME, Esquire, Kirkus, among others—and The Glass Eye (Tin House), which Poets & Writers called one of the five best literary nonfiction debuts of 2017. Her third book, , will be published by Tin House in September 2025. Born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio, she lives in Baltimore and is an associate professor of English at Towson University.


ABOUT THE MODERATOR

HYESEUNG SONG is a first-generation Korean American painter and the author of Docile: Memoirs of a Not-So-Perfect Asian Girl. Docile has been called a "savagely beautiful memoir" by David Henry Hwang, a "revelation" by Chloé Cooper Jones and was named a "Best Book" by Apple and “Most Anticipated” by Electric Literature, BookRiot and more. Raised in Texas, Song studied philosophy at Princeton and Harvard Universities, and painting at the Grand Central Atelier in New York City. A two-time Greenshields award winner, TedX speaker, and resident artist of the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico, the Vermont Studio Center and the Alfred and Trafford Klots International Program, Song has also taught at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is at work on her first novel. Song lives in Brooklyn and upstate New York.
