It's true that sometimes experiences, especially ones of debating, are made worth it by the people, not the place. But sometimes, some places are lively enough as they unconditionally witness our stories of growth. The pillars of St. Joseph have stood for more than 70 years, as its elements have watched its people shape their destiny. The creaking door of the Chess Room or the squeaky whiteboard of the room beside the library are ever-present monologues heard across batches and generations. The podiums which saw legends stutter in their first speech and ignite in their last, the pieces of wriggled papers with notes wrung from all that we know and beyond, the peach walls we still touch with tender affection, are all witnesses of greatness. While Nihilism contends we're grains of sand in this vast universe, our favorite abode reminds us of how we contain vibrant universes among us.Our home has also witnessed riveting self-expressions from debaters who have graced this place with their bold presence in past tournaments. It has hosted some of the most competitive events in the history of our circuit, raising the bar of excellence for our club and the whole community. Honestly, it has been a while - just long enough to realize that both the place and its people have missed the eloquent battles of debaters from across the country.
Thus, after a hiatus of 5 years, the oldest and first ever school debating club in Bangladesh, Josephite Debating Club (JDC) is ready to welcome you back for another edition of its signature tournaments- JDC Eloquence and JDC Nationals 2025. Alongside our signature events, we will be hosting external events such as Extempore Speech, Turn the Coat, Movie Based Quiz, Philosophy Quiz, Sports Quiz, GK Quiz, IR Quiz and Economics Quiz.
This prestigious tournament isn't just about winning or losing- it's a battleground where words of debaters wield power and ignite change. As some of the brightest minds in the debating arena of the country gather to compete, meticulous judges will follow the discussions with keen ears, ensuring only the most articulate and convincing arguments prevail. Whether you're a seasoned debater, an aspiring orator or simply a lover of engaging in discourse, our signature tournaments alongside other events will spark your intellect and curiosity.
