JCI Petal St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The Petal Jaycees (JCI Petal) are excited to invite you to participate in the JCI Petal St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a community tradition celebrating Irish spirit, family fun, and Petal pride! 🍀
📅 Date: Saturday, March 14, 2026
🕐 Time: Parade begins at 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Downtown Petal, Mississippi
🎭 Parade Theme: Luck of the Irish
(Participants are encouraged to decorate and dress creatively in theme!)
ENTRY FEES
Each registration is valid for (1) car, truck/trailer, float, or walking group
OR (2) golf carts
Early Registration: 1/12/2026-2/7/2026
- $85 Commercial
- $50 Nonprofits & Families
Regular Registration: 2/8/2026 – 2/24/2026
- $100 Commercial
- $60 Nonprofits & Families
Late Registration: 2/25/2026 -3/13/2026
- $150 Commercial
- $75 Nonprofits & Families
🚫 No cash will be accepted.
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION POLICIES
- No refunds or transfers will be permitted. Registrations are considered a donation to JCI Petal.
- Entries that arrive at line-up without being registered will be required to pay a $250 on-site fee, will be placed at the end of the parade, and will not be judged.
🎉 Jaycee Bonus: Any entrant who joins the Petal Jaycees will receive 20% off membership dues for the year.
LINE-UP
Due to the number of last-minute entries received each year:
- Line-up and check-in details will NOT be released early
⏰ Line-up Time:
- Begins at 12:00 PM
- Ends at 1:45 PM
Late arrivals will not be included.
ENTRY IDENTIFICATION & JUDGING
Each entry must display:
- A poster, sign, or banner with your organization name and float/group name
- Your assigned parade number, clearly visible
If judges cannot see both, your entry will forfeit competition eligibility.
For judging purposes:
- Entries must follow the parade theme
- Non-themed entries will not be judged
PARADE RULES & SAFETY GUIDELINES
- Decorations, costumes, music, and performances must be family-friendly
- Any content deemed inappropriate or not in the spirit of the event may be removed at the discretion of JCI Petal members
- City ordinances prohibit throwing candy or favors
- Candy may be handed out
- No suckers or stick candy
- Performances that stop the parade must be 30 seconds or less
- No horses or live animals allowed
- No sitting on vehicle hoods or roofs
Walkers & Supervision
- 4 walkers required per vehicle
- 6 walkers required per float
- Walkers must be at least 16 years old
- Walkers help maintain crowd safety and distribute candy
- All children must be actively supervised by an adult
VEHICLES & ENTRIES
- Personal golf carts are allowed
- 2 carts per paid entry
- Must be decorated to theme
- Additional vehicles require separate registration
- Proof of insurance is required for all entries
LIABILITY & WEATHER
- JCI Petal is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or property damage
- All participants agree to hold harmless and indemnify JCI Petal
- The parade will proceed rain or shine
- All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable
- All Drivers may be subject to a breathalizer from the Petal Police Department. If the Police Department Pulls you from the parade there will be no refunds.

🏆 Three Awards Will Be Presented:
- Best Use of Color
- Luckiest Float (Most Iriosh Symbolism)
- Best Walking / Performing Group
- Jaycee’s Choice
Winners will be:
- Announced following the parade
- Posted on the JCI Petal Facebook page
ABOUT THE PETAL JAYCEES (JCI PETAL)
The Petal Jaycees are a local chapter of JCI USA, a 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to empowering young people to create positive change in their communities.
JCI focuses on leadership development through four key areas:

- Business & Management
- International Opportunity
Membership is open to individuals ages 18–40.
Funds raised through the parade directly support local Petal Jaycees projects and programs throughout the year.
