Want to join the Jazzrobeat Collective? If you are 12-17 and want to play Afro Jazz, Funk and Reggae with a live band this FREE course is for you!
Dates & Times: Mondays 5.30pm-7pm. 15, 22, 29 Sept. 6, 13, 20 Oct (27th no half term session). 3, 10, 17, 24 Nov 2025. 1,8 Dec 2025.

To join the 2025 Autumn course you will have some experience of playing a musical instrument so you can improve by playing in a band. The focus is on Afro Jazz, Funk and Reggae genres to develop and build up your music skills.
You are required to bring your own instruments and we particularly welcome horn players and guitarists. CultureMix Arts has limited instruments available including keyboards, percussion and drum kit.
Classes are during term time only and you can book a ticket anytime.

How it started
Launched in 2023 in a partnership with Youthsayers the free Jazz Reggae Afrobeat course encouraged 12-17 year olds to develop their live music playing alongside professionals.
In 2024 The Jazzrobeat Collective was created by the dedicated group of young musicians with support from CultureMix tutors Jamie and Ruel for live performances at Carnival of the World and Readipop Festival.
