About this Event
As the founder and leader of Soul II Soul, and an award-winning songwriter, producer and presenter, Jazzie B is firmly established as one of Britain’s most successful black musicians.
Jazzie has also produced and mixed for artists of the calibre of James Brown, Public Enemy and Destiny’s Child and was honoured with the first Ivor Novello Award for Inspiration and an OBE from the Queen.
But there’s so much more to this maverick entrepreneur, who is as musically relevant and culturally connected as ever - which shouldn’t be surprising when you discover how he got here.
Now, for the first time, Jazzie strips back the layers of his unique life and times in a revealing, thought-provoking and visually stunning autobiography.
A Happy Face, A Thumpin’ Bass, For A Lovin’ Race charts the story of an ambitious London kid who became a global star, bringing awards, chart-topping hits and royal honours.
Join us at the House of St Barnabas as we throw an exclusive launch party to celebrate the release of Jazzie's autobiography. With a Q&A in our chapel, a book signing and a live DJ set, you'll get the chance to get up close and personal with the artist and his music.
Running times: 19.00-23.00.
