Jazz Week @ Kirkwood

Jazz Week @ Kirkwood Community College runs Wednesday-Saturday Nov. 13-16 featuring four days of masterclasses and concerts with guest artist and jazz saxophonist Kenyon Brenner!

This series includes two free masterclasses: Wednesday Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Iowa Hall Room B covering pedagogy equipment and big band techniques; and Thursday Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in Ballantyne Auditorium focused on jazz improvisation in small and large ensembles. All are welcome.

Concerts will be held on Friday and Saturday Nov. 15-16 at 7:30 p.m. in Ballantyne Auditorium with Brenner featured both nights. On Friday the Kirkwood Jazz Combo opens followed by the Big Band with music by Bob Mintzer. On Saturday the Kirkwood Pop Ensemble kicks off the night and the CR Jazz Big Band directed by Blake Shaw closes with high-energy swing.
