It's Fat Tuesday and we have a very special show lined up for this evening. We are featuring an eight-piece band - five horns plus rhythm section - and performing arrangements of classic New Orleans jazz by King Oliver and Jelly Roll Morton. We will also perform NOLA-flavored pieces by Duke Ellington and Wycliffe Gordon.The Moriarty's NOLA Octet includes MSU Prof of Jazz Anthony Stanco, trumpet; Jon Gewirtz, alto sax; Paloma Ximena, clarinet; Liam Trawick, soprano sax, tenor sax, and clarinet; Wyatt Forhan, trombone; William Hill, III, piano; Langston Kitchen, bass; and Jazz Tuesdays host Jeff Shoup, drums.
