An evening of timeless jazz unfolds within the open-air courtyard of Cheong Fatt Tze – The Blue Mansion.Acclaimed Australian jazz vocalist and songwriter Gregg Arthur takes the stage for a rare live performance, joined by Penang’s own Northern Jazz Unit. Known for his refined vocal style, lyrical phrasing and magnetic stage presence, Arthur has built an international career with performances across the United States, Singapore, China and Japan, and is widely regarded as Australia’s premier jazz vocalist.
His career highlights include Las Vegas residencies with Vincent Falcone, musical director to Frank Sinatra, and a long-term residency at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Jazz Grill in Los Angeles. He has performed at prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre and Singapore’s Victoria Theatre, and opened the Melbourne International Jazz Festival for Branford Marsalis.
Praised by the late Tony Bennett for his “perfection in phrasing,” Arthur brings a rich repertoire of jazz standards and original compositions, promising a captivating night of music and atmosphere.
