Description:Come and play through some jazz standards with leadership and direction from Ryan Oliver, one of the west coast’s most accomplished musicians. Get tips on style, groove, scales, form, and chords for improvisation and learn what makes it a ‘jazz standard’.
A house band will play a couple of songs to kick off the evenings. All instruments (including singers) are welcome.
Host: Ryan Oliver
Location: Metro Theatre (enter through the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Johnson St main entrance. Walk past the front desk and down the stairs.
Fee: $10
Doors at 6:45pm, Class runs from 7- 8:30 pm.
Gear Provided: Amps, mics, drums, a PA, and a piano.

This event is part of the 2024 Fall Workshop Series presented by the Victoria Conservatory of Music's Contemporary School of Music.
