Jazz Intersection comes to Gold Coast City Jazz Club from 7pm on Tuesday 3 February. While the individual musicians have all performed together previously, this concert marks the first time they appear as a collective.The group features two vocalists and leans towards a funk-influenced repertoire from the 1980s and 1990s. The audience can expect a combination of well-loved jazz standards and a number of familiar tunes not often heard in a jazz setting.
Rather than focusing on extended soloing, the emphasis is on the sound of the group as a whole, highlighting the distinctive textures of Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes electric piano, synthesizer and acoustic piano.
