As part of our October 10 Late Night at the Museum, see jazz ensemble The Wolverines live at the Detroit Historical Museum - admission is free!Enjoy two sets, 5:30-6:30PM & 6:45-7:45PM
The Wolverines breathe new life into a musical canon with roots that reach back a hundred years or more—to the mouth of the Mississippi River and the cultural port city of New Orleans, the “birthplace of jazz.” Like the renowned 1920s territory band of the same name, its members are based in the midwest—Christopher Tabaczynski (Northville, MI) leads the band and plays assorted woodwinds including C-Melody saxophone, Albert-system clarinet, and bass saxophone alongside Dave Kosmyna (Toledo, OH) on cornet and clarinet while Alex Belhaj (Ann Arbor, MI) and Erik McIntyre (Flint, MI) pluck and strum guitar/banjo and Shannon Wade (South Lyon, MI) holds it down on string bass.
