PSSSSSST! Have you heard about the East Valley's second best kept secret, JAZZ CAFÉ: A solo Jazz Routines practice hour? Starting this September, on each Wednesday, from 6-7pm, dancers of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join!
Cost of Admission: FREE (Cue shocked expressions and foghorn noises)
JAZZ CAFÉ provides an open forum to bring your solo jazz questions, ideas, energy, and caffeine to fuel your dancing obsession. BRING YOUR OWN COFFEE BEANS and we will grind them and provide an espresso machine for our coffee-induced power hour! Tea drinkers will have access to a hot water kettle and a sampling of tea leaf and herbal teas.

What we will learn:
- In September, learn the Nitty Gritty at the JAZZ CAFÉ. This popular line dance showcases Shirley Ellis’s hit song danced to Bobby Banas’s steps!
- We will also learn Mama’s Stew, a practice routine originally danced by Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers and used as a warm-up routine! Named after Louise “Mama Lou” Parks, this one is a burner! Don’t worry, we’ll start slowly!
- Lastly, we’ll break-down solo jazz movements to help you isolate your hips and shoulders, hands, feet, knees, hips, and toes to really drive through each movement in this and many other dances!

Where we will sip coffee and tea and dance jazz joyfully:
-Located in a historical building built in 1931, the Guild of the Vale has an awesome wood floor and a vintage feel that will make you want to dance! Street parking as well as the empty lot directly to the west of the building is available for parking.

- 7:00pm- 8:00pm (Collegiate Shag)

Open dancing to AZ's best swing DJs until ~11:00pm is only $10 (Cash and Credit [+$1 charge] accepted, Water sold at the door, $1)
