In the belief that exploring other dance styles creates a more holistic and aware dance student and true to its mission to inspire and expose students to a myriad of dance styles, DanzArt will bring the opportunity to experience the joy, stylishness, and liveliness of Jazz-Ballet!In this occasion, DanzArt is pleased to invite young and adult recreational dancers to the Jazz-Ballet Open Class led by Sven Copony, a former HNK Ballet and Contemporary Dancer and ballet pedagogue at Silvija Hercigonja Dance School.
The Jazz-Ballet class is an elegant jazz-oriented dance module. It is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz. It blends two distinct dance styles by combining syncopated rhythms and jazz improvisation with ballet's smooth elegance, grace and balance. This mix creates a lively, expressive dance form, allowing dancers to follow a set of techniques while expressing their style.
This class will bring out the performer in a ballet dancer with its upbeat music and less rigid ballet technical expectations. Ballet dancers who struggle to be expressive in their classes can benefit from the high energy and popular music in the jazz class.
Take a deep breath and put it all together! Jazz vine, step cross lunge, fifth walks to hollow puppet, chaîné, piqués, arabesque leap, pirouettes, blow in and outs, toe drag turn, chassés, grand jetés …
