More about Groove Beast
Groove Beast is the result of a collaboration between Chicago music veterans Cameron Pfiffner (Sabertooth, Marco Polo, Adolphe’S AX) and Stevie Doyle (The Hoyle Bros; Uléle, Whiskey Hollow, Lush Budget). Cameron spends most of his time on the jazz scene, Stevie in blues, folk, country, rock and bluegrass, but each has played in numerous musical situations and they have worked together frequently over the years. For both, groove and emotion are the most important elements of music, and this band explores their original compositions, encompassing Jazz, Blues, Funk, Celtic, Chinese, African, Middle Eastern, Ska, Latin American and other genres.
Cameron on saxes/flutes and Stevie on guitar are joined by Dan Thatcher (Waterwheel, Storytime Trio) on bass; and Mike Schlick (Buddy Guy, Scott Hamilton, Jack McDuff) on drums.
