When Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color-barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 he not only changed the game but America too. But before Robinson wore number 42 for the Dodgers, he wore number 5 for the Kansas City Monarchs.
Jazz & Jackie celebrates his Kansas City professional baseball roots and his unbridled love of jazz, an art form that got its soul in Kansas City.
The event features a scintillating concert performance by Dre Scot, with special guest, Smooth Jazz Saxophonist, Jazmin Ghent.
JAZZ & JACKIE is made possible through the generous support of the State of Missouri, Republic Services, U.S. Bank, NTDF, Hill's Pet Nutrition, and Evergy.
Event proceeds benefit the NLBM. Eventbrite service fees apply.
